Health care provision at Checkpoint Paris, a community-based sexual health center

Checkpoint Paris offers accessible and comprehensive health care services for LGBTQIA+ individuals and sex workers. The center provides a coordinated care pathway, including specialized consultations regarding sexual health, addiction, sexology, mental health, and harm reduction for individuals engaging in chemsex. In 2023, 524 individuals were cared for, primarily men who have sex with men using cathinones and GHB/GBL. The care pathway includes harm reduction consultations and follow-up care for injection-related complications. Special attention is given to training health care professionals and supporting trans persons, racialized individuals, and sex workers. Areas for improvement include better identification of at-risk behaviors and individualized strategies.
