Patients struggling with excessive alcohol consumption occasionally mention their states of intoxication and their behavior during these moments. It is notable that some of the same behavioral aspects are found quite frequently. We have observed certain known elements associated with problematic alcohol use that relate to these reoccurring aspects in the writing patients produced during the writing group activities offered by our department. These elements often outline their relation to time, to others, and to the world. Through our study, as presented in this article, we managed to more or less recognize the subject’s position regarding his or her issues of concern.
