Observance and Experience of Opioid Substitution Treatments in the Workplace: Study with Patients observed in an Addiction Treatment Centre
By Arnaud Trabuc
English
Several studies have sought to study the experience of patients under OST but none seems to consider the professional environment. We therefore conducted a qualitative exploratory study of patients followed at the Marmottan hospital, a specialised addiction centre located in Paris. The aim was twofold: to explore the professional observation of opiate substitution treatments and the experience of these therapies in this context. The topics covered during the interviews were grouped around those axes: the effects of treatments experienced at work, the fear of lack of opioids, “to talk about it or not to talk about it?”, and the fear of stigma.
